Street Art Auction @ Julien's Beverly Hills

street-art-catalogI will have several paintings for auction along side Banky and other great artists in December at Julien's Auction. Read here for more information.

On Thursday, December 5th, 2013, Julien’s Auctions will host its inaugural Street Art auction event featuring the sale of Banksy’s Flower Girl mural.

Flower Girl transformed a 9x8 foot section of brick wall into one of Banksy’s signature murals. It drew crowds to the unassuming gas station in Hollywood where it was created and has since fueled the fire of the “street art” movement. Now Julien’s is pleased to announce the chance for a rare acquisition of this work, one of Banksy’s early large format street art murals.

The collection offered at auction gives a glimpse into the genesis of the modern street art movement by focusing on several pivotal artists. Art collectors wishing to expand their portfolios to include Blue Chip urban art will find other highlights on display at Julien’s Auctions, including pieces from the CONART collection, as well as works by renowned artists such as Risk, MearsOne, Cope2, Indie 184, Miner I, and Chaze.

The property exhibition is open to the public at the Julien’s Beverly Hills Gallery starting Monday, December 2nd through Thursday, December 5th, 2013.

Amid the growing controversy surrounding urban artists such as Banksy, the December 5th auction at Julien’s Gallery will undoubtedly continue to spark the debate over what constitutes “true” art.
