Wooden Walls Towel Project
The Wooden Walls Mural Project is a beloved facet of the Asbury Park Boardwalk. Now the artists and collaborators behind the murals are excited to present to the public the Wooden Walls Towel Project. This exhibition brings the beach together with artwork in a new way and features 14 unique beach towel designs inspired by the murals.
Wooden Walls Towel Project is an exhibition of fourteen beach towels inspired by the Wooden Walls murals on the Asbury Park boardwalk. The Wooden Wall Towel Project is a celebration of the murals, the mural artists, and the beach itself. Thirteen Wooden Walls murals are represented, with one artist inspired to create a second towel design based on his mural. The towels are 100% cotton, measure 30” x 60”, and is an edition of 50 towels per design. A portion of sales goes directly to the artists.
Come celebrate muralists Dee Dee, Dylan Egon, Hellbent, Logan Hicks, Bradley Hoffer, Indie184, Joe Iurato, Michele Martello, Porkchop, Pau Quintanajornet, Mike Shine, Thiago Valdi, and James Vance.
With a wink to museum shops, GIFT houses GIFT SHOP which sells and produces original, often limited-edition t-shirts, wood blocks, and clocks with Wooden Wall mural artists. A portion of sales goes to the artists and a portion to Parlor Gallery whose aesthetics, diligence, and perseverance make these murals possible.
The GIFT gallery showcases works by Wooden Walls muralists as well as emerging local, national, and international artists, curated by Jill Ricci and Jenn Hampton of Parlor Gallery.
GIFT is a collaborative space made possible by Madison Marquette, FunHouse, Parlor Gallery and the Wooden Walls Project. Gene Mignola and Scott Hamm of Shelter Home/Fun House are thrilled to be collaborating with mural artists and GIFT, creating new icons for Asbury Park.
The celebration of this project will take place Thursday, August 31, 2017, from 7pm - 9pm at GIFT - the gallery/workspace/gift shop - located in the Fourth Avenue Pavilion at 1100 Ocean Avenue , (between 3rd and 4th Avenue), Entrance on Ocean Avenue. During this special exhibition, you will have the chance to pre-order these limited edition towels.

We are very pleased to present "Anything You Can Do..."
An exhibition celebrating art created by female artists..
“While women artists have been involved in making art throughout history, their work often has not been as well acknowledged as that of men. Women artists faced challenges due to gender biases in the mainstream fine art world. They have often encountered difficulties in training and gaining recognition. Beginning in the late 1960s and 1970s, feminist artists and art historians created a Feminist art movement that overtly addresses the role of women in the art world and explores the role of women in art history and in society.”
As one of the only solely woman owned and curated galleries in New Jersey, we’ve decided to attempt to balance the lack of representation and exposure of female artists and present an all women’s exhibit at least once a year. For this show, we will be debuting artists new to the gallery as well as a salon style exhibit of some of our returning gallery artists. Since the exhibit is gender-specific as opposed to curated around a theme or style, there will be a multitude of genres represented in all mediums.
Parlor Gallery will also have new works from Dahlia Elsayed, Ellen Stagg, Bri Cirel, Dara Vandor, Alexandra Becker Black, Sarah Sandin, Lauren Klain Carton, Rebecca Rose, Erica Levine, Rose Freymouth- Frazier, VHS Girl, Indie 184, Michela Martello, DeeDee and Tine Helleshøj
Opening Reception: Saturday, June 24th 7-11pm
