I just arrived from my solo expedition to Reykjavik, Iceland. I went to visit my good friend Sigrun, do some tourist things and of course explore the graffiti scene out there. Here are some photos of my first day....
At the airport exchanging Dollars to Icelandic Krones, ISK. (kr1000 = $8.31)
The scenery from Keflavik International Airport was breathtaking. Houses rest on land made up of old volcanic rocks ...looks like a fairytale...
I had the chance to visit the Hallgrímskirkja Lutheran Church...one of the tallest in Iceland.
The statue of Leif Eriksson - Iceland / Norweigan explorer who was said to have discovered North America 500 years before Chritopher Columbus...
An exhibition inside the church..."In Green Pastures I rest". I like that.
A view from inside the church's clock tower - with a 36o degree look at Reykjavik.
The large pipe church organs ...
Clean and modern aesthetic of the inside of the church...
The guesthouse where I stayed in...
My first night in Reykjavik it rained and there was night. But then I learned
that the cloud only hid the Sun. But in reality there was no sunset during the summers in Iceland.
Inside the guesthouse, vintage Icelandic art and decor...shabby but cute.
